Visiting Iowa City

Hi. I am visiting Iowa City for an interview on October 2. Because of the football game, the only room I can get for Saturday night is either a hotel a few miles north of Cedar Rapids airport, or a hotel in Muscatine.

As I do not know the area at all, is one area better/cleaner/safer than the other for Saturday night? Sunday night I have a room at the Sheraton in Iowa City.

Thanks

I think the one by the CR airport would be better. That is probably only a 20 minute trip to Iowa City. Muscatine would not be convenient at all.

I%26#39;m from Iowa City and lived there until 5 years ago. I would definitely stay at a hotel north of CR airport. I think it%26#39;ll be a lot closer and more convenient. It%26#39;s not too far off I-380 which turns into Hwy. 218 after it crossed I-80. So then you have the option of shooting right into IC on either 281 or 80 depending on your destination. Muscatine seems a lot farther to me, we rarely went that direction. Just avoid southeast Cedar Rapids which can be a little rough.
