Walking distance

Is the Holiday Inn at 6th Ave within walking distance to the Vets Auditorium?

Also, is there in restaurants near the Holiday Inn or shopping?

Thanks for your help. We will be coming to Des Moines from KC this weekend for a cheer competition. The weather is looking a little bleak. :(

I would call the hotel directly to find out for sure, but most of the downtown hotels are connected by a skywalk system and are not far from vets
