Help! We need FUN-FUN things to do when we visit Keokuk this summer and possibly again early fall 2006! What is there to do in this fair city with two teenagers, a boy 14 and a girl 16? Interests include: riverboat rides, waterparks, horseback riding, go-carts, and the like. We%26#39;ll be limited to travel within an hour%26#39;s drive of Keokuk, so we need day-trip type information please.

What's Fun in Keokuk?
Check out Fun City in Burlington: has new water park etc: http://www.onefuncity.com/
Also might want to look at Villages of Van Buren (google for website)--more historical than high kid type activity tho. Also Burlington Steamboat days are approx. June 12 - 15.
What's Fun in Keokuk?
Hannibal, Missouri is within an hour of Keokuk, I know they have a waterpark %26amp; probably go-carts and that type of thing down there. It is supposed to be a kid-friendly destination. Nauvoo, Ill. www.beautifulnauvoo.com is right across the river from Keokuk, the temple there is a sight to see, maybe not exciting for kids, but definitely something interesting to see. Labor Day weekend Mt.Pleasant (again within 1 hour of Keokuk) has the Old Thresher%26#39;s Reunion which is a huge fair/festival with rides and ususally some big-name singers. www.oldthreshers.org
Hope that helps!
Steamboat Days is the week of the 13th... Some big names are going to perform this year, including Big %26amp; Rich, Montgomery Gentry, Joe Nichols, STYX, and Bo Bice... And its only $40 for the week of concerts..
